The design is wonderful. The whole steam-punk look was to my liking. The problem was that it was poorly after purchasing this item, I gave it to my girlfriend. After a day of just wearing it, the glue attaching the red glass part to the metal wore out and it broke off. I had to re-glue it.
Other than that, this is a wonderful gift. If you are thinking about giving this to someone, i would suggest that you wear it for a day or two first. That way if it break you can fix it without them knowing about it or send it back .
All in all i give:
4/5 for Display
3/5 for Assembly

Also note that the heart can open up like a locket. It was kinda cool my girlfriend and I didnt realize that until we got it. Or at least ours opened up.
The detail is amazing. This necklace is so beautiful, I absolutely love it. The best part for me is the quote from Frankenstein on the inside of the heart. I recommend this for any one who appreciates the combination of steampunk and classic lit.
