When I was a little girl, I dreamed of sailing away with a handsome pirate to Antigua or the Antilles or Bora-Bora. Had I looked a little more closely, I would have been wearing this jacket. Shapely and fitted in cotton velvet, it would suit a pirate’s mistress, or even perhaps an Irish marquess at home in her snug castle. Fully lined, with a topstitched shawl collar and soutache trim detailing above the flared cuffs and back fantail, it’s a marvel of fashion engineering. A single hook closes the front, while the brass buttons add the right touch to make any lady look smart and dashing.

And if you read this, Dread Pirate Roberts, I’ll be waiting.

I purchased this jacket in black about two years ago. It always receives compliments when I wear it. It is as perfect for Steampunk garb as it is for an everyday Steampunk vibe. The quality of the fabrication is outstanding, and the soutache details and antiqued buttons are fabulous! I love love love to wear it, and I always feel "pulled together" when it's a part of my ensemble!
