Dear Diary,

Theme and Variations. It worked for Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms, and this might just be the thing to finally capture the eye of the dashing Scottish admiral. He has a known weakness for all things soft and feminine, and the delicate ruffles that line the lapels and bottom of this jacket contrast nicely with the fitted princess seaming and rows of decorative buttons. A jaunty checked lining adds a touch of whimsy. Military styling? A trifle, but no one will mistake me for a cabin boy. How did he put it? “Verrrry fetching…” he growled. Do I hear a waltz?

95% Dacron 5% Spandex Lining 100% polyester
Hand wash, line dry
Sleeve length is 17-18" from armpit to cuff.
The black version has a lovely dark grey ruffle and black buttons with silver accents.

Customer Reviews

Absolutely love this jacket. Lightweight and pretty. I washed this in my washer a few times already, on delicate cycle and threw in dryer. Came out nice! I know directions said otherwise but washing worked for me. I anticipate purchasing one more in black.
I am so glad I had read other customers reviews before purchasing. On their advice I ordered up a size and am delighted that this jacket fit perfectly. I love the style and the cute buttons. The Lace adds a nice feminine touch to this well made Jacket!
A friend of mine ordered this jacket, and thankfully posted details on where I could get it. I just got mine in the other day, and I'm more than pleased. I ordered a medium based off the size charts described and I am happy to say it fits perfectly, almost like it was tailor-made for me. It's very comfortable and has a nice lining inside. The sleeves can be rolled halfway up, exposing the inside lining (which is pretty as well).

Other than the "dry clean only" instructions (a minor inconvenience), I am really happy with this garment. It's stylish and can be worn with most anything, whether it's with a skirt and knee high boots and a corset, or casual jeans and a tank top.
Great jacket! I bought this in the black version and it is even nicer in person. Well constructed and fully lined, it does not feel "costumey" or cheap at all. It was obviously assembled with care without any shortcuts. For example, the "silver accents" the description mentions on the buttons are actually molded and embedded into the buttons and not just printed on. I was initially unsure of which size to get, as the chart made it look like I could wear either a small or a medium, so I contacted Clockwork Couture for advice...they helpfully let me know that this particular style does run a wee bit small so to size up if in doubt. Good advice! I did size up, and my jacket fit perfectly. This is a good subtly steampunkish piece that can be integrated into your regular wardrobe without looking like a costume, or you can crank it up and go full steam ahead. Thanks, Clockwork Couture!
I bought this jacket on it's first run about 2 years ago and it has been my favorite ever since. It's comfortable, fashionable, and I can wear it with anything: T-shirt and jeans, or a dress, and I always get comments on it. It's also quite warm, so it's good for spring or fall, or under a coat in the winter. I don't personally wear the ruffle, but that's because I don't like ruffles :-). Only downside is it has to be dry-cleaned.
