I went with a size 7 because the item description said they run true to size, and it was definitely the way to go-- they fit perfectly. Straight out of the box, I wore these for 3 days while antiquing my way through southeast Wisconsin (read: I basically lived in them for 3 days). They were way more comfortable than I thought they would be, especially considering the fact that I never wear heeled shoes ever (and the oddly low price, as well-- who's ever found a pair of boots for under $40 that didn't wear like a pair of boots for, well, under $40?). My only gripe with them is the zipper-- they're a little abrasive. This is of course easily remedied by wearing long socks, or leggings, so it's really only a tiny flaw in an otherwise great pair of boots. For anyone wondering about arch support, there isn't much. Luckily, I inherited my mother's arches, so the lack of arch support didn't detract from my comfort experience at all. All in all, they were a fantastic purchase.
I'm a 6.5 normally and that's what I ordered. They fit perfectly. I was able to adjust the lacing to fit the width of my foot and then use the zipper to get in and out. I don't mind the zipper myself - and it is a very good quality zipper. They look great, they feel great, and they walk great. Compliments all around the first day wearing them. They also look really good with the Victorian Cabaret Stockings.
THESE ARE MARVELOUS. THEY MAKE ME WANT TO LOVE MY FEET.
They're very comfortable, a bit roomy -- I guess they run like a half size large but that is totally okay with me because it means I can wear heavy socks with them if I want. But they're by no means so large that my feet will slip out of them or anything. Like most of the shoes on here, they do have zippers on the inside, which is I guess the only thing about them that doesn't thrill me (they'd look more authentic if they just laced up). But they are SO snazzy and attractive. The juxtaposition of shiny leather and canvas is pretty badass. They make me feel like the sexiest thing around. Now I need to find an adventure to take them on!
